“My husband might not love that I’m sharing this, but I just had to.

Tonight, we were at Walmart checking out when we overheard a young guy talking to the cashier. He said, ‘I worked all summer, so I told my mom she didn’t need to spend any money on my school supplies this year.’

The next thing I knew, my husband walked over, shook the young man’s hand, and paid for his school supplies himself. Alan has always respected hard work, and he told the kid to keep doing what he’s doing—because with that kind of effort, his future could go anywhere.

I’m not posting this just to brag about my husband (though I’m super proud of him), but also to brag about that young man.

In a world where bad news spreads fast, this was a little reminder of the good that’s still out there. And honestly, it was exactly what my heart needed to see.”
